Ascend to the craters of an Active volcano. Yes, you read that right, you will be in two craters. Misti is the name of the volcano which is easily observed from any point in Arequipa. Closer to the city, Misti has become the famous volcano known also as Arequipa’s tutelar volcano.

Day 1:

Our starting point for the excursion is located at 3500 meters above sea level (11482ft.), from here our hike will take around 5 hours until we reach our base camp located at 4500 mts. (14763ft.). On route, we will be witnesses of a beautiful sunset as well as the temperature changes when we change ecological niches. A perfect place for photography lovers.

Day 2:

Our hike towards the top of the volcano will take place just after our breakfast (around 4:00 a.m). This hike will take 5 - 6 hours approximately to reach the top which is located at 5825 mts. (19110ft.) From this point we will observe the outstanding landscape surrounded by the Chachani and Pichu Picchu volcanoes. After this unforgettable experience, we will descent to our base camp to have a small break to then begin our second descent where our transport will be waiting for us for our small trip back to Arequipa. We will arrive to the white city around 4:00 p.m
