The Toro Muerto petroglyphs, located in the Majes valley at 163 km from Arequipa, have more than 3000 stone blocks with engraved images. Thanks to its images diversity (anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures) Toro Muerto occupies the first place as the biggest petroglyphs repository in the world.

The beginning of this excursion starts with a trip towards the Majes valley from Arequipa. Our first visit will take place in Toro Muerto. Our 03 hours tour will take us to the most famous figures, we will learn about the techniques and the cultures that did these engravings. After this, we will visit the Jurassic Park in the Querulpa zone which has different fossils. We will have 20 minutes walk to see the dinosaurs’ footprints and visit the museum which has some mommies as different artifacts as well.  

Subsequently, we will enjoy our lunch at Aplao, a village where we will also learn more about the process of Pisco and winemaking which are the principal economic activities of the Majes valley. Then, we will return to Arequipa to recover energies for our next day adventure.
