Arequipa Countryside tour
WE TAILOR MADE ALL OUR PROGRAMS!
The Arequipa countryside tour is a great activity that allows us to visit non-traditional touristy sites. This tour will give us the opportunity to appreciate the amazing views of Arequipa from different natural viewpoints.
Our tour will begin with a pick up from your hotel after we will be transferred to Carmen Alto’s viewpoint. From this point, we will appreciate the valley next to the Chili river and the three volcanoes that surround the white city. This is one of the best views that this charming city has to offer.
Our next stop will be at the Yanahuara main square. We will visit its mirador with its colonial temple with a great architectural ornamentation as well as the famous sillar portals; unique characteristics that Arequipa has.
Then, we will make another stop in the highest mirador of the city. On route, we will cross a bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel. The name of the viewpoint is Sachaca, at this point we will observe the majority of Arequipa’s countryside. After this, we will be lead to a mansion called “La Mansion del fundador” (The founder's mansion) which, according to some scholars, this property belonged to Don Manuel Garci de Carbajal during colonial times.
One of our last stops is at the Sabandia mill. A colonial and hydraulic mill called Molino de Sabandia. After this, we will head towards Paucarpata which keeps some Pre-Inca agricultural terraces to then head back to our hotel.
The countryside tour in Arequipa is a great opportunity to know more about the importance that agriculture, religion, and history has in the locals. A tour that allows us to know more about that colonial Arequipa and its surroundings, great to be shared with the family, friends or even on your own!
