Colca Trek 2 Days

The Colca Canyon Trek is that perfect fit for those who look to connect with the authenticity of the roots of the Andean culture, and the interaction rarely found during a traditional touristic visit. Enjoy and share the experience of a different way of living with the most remote and picturesque Andean villages, learn more about the Andean landscapes and immerse yourself in a memorable experience that only the Colca Canyon has.

Day 1

This day, our starting hike point is Pampa San Miguel, in the Cabanaconde district. However, on the route, we will have our breakfast and then we will reach the best spot to observe the Colca Canyon. If possible, and weather permitting, we will observe the enigmatic Andean condor and its fly.

After this small visit, we will arrive at Pampa San Miguel which will be our starting point for our trek. A four-hour trek that will lead us to ‘San Juan de Cuccho’, a well-known village because of its rustic constructions and its fruit trees. Here, we will enjoy our lunch, and of course, the local fruits!

Our next stop is Cosñirhua and Malata. From there we will observe some pre-Inca archaeological remains, the local museum and the organic honey produced by locals. This also will be our descending point to the Colca Canyon, and after a two-hour trek, we will arrive at the Sangalle Valley to enjoy its tropical weather. Yes! we will spend a night in an oasis in the Colca Canyon.

Day 2

This day our ascending hike will begin (03 hours approx.) towards Cabanaconde where we will have our breakfast. Then, we will be transferred to Chivay visiting other towns on the route where we will observe some traditional dances, small stone-made models related to architecture, colonial temples, and agricultural terraces. By noon we will arrive at Chivay and then go to the ‘La Calera’ hot springs if we want to end this day with a relaxing bath.
